SEGA’s President: “Resident Evil 5 on the Wii”

Talk about a show stopper! SEGA of America’s president Simon Jeffery had an interview with Kotaku during E3. He said Capcom’s game, Resident Evil 5, would help Nintendo reconnect with their core fans… more or less. When asked about this event, Reggie Fils-Aime of Nintendo, Chris Kramer of Capcom, and Simon Jeffery all refuted this claim. Jeffery himself said it was a “slip of the tongue” and was meaning to say Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop rather than Resident Evil 5. It probably was a mistake, especially when it was a SEGA employee referencing a Capcom game on Nintendo’s platform. Still, it’s a big enough blunder to point out.
