Will Mega Man 9 Blast Its Way to the Wii?

The Wii has seen a lot out of Capcom. In fact, they’re one of the Wii’s best third party publisher in terms of quality games. Now word has been flying about that the Blue Bomber himself might just pop a cap in our Wiis’ asses. A member over at NeoGAF.com did a search for Mega Man in the Australian Classification Board (I assume like the US’ ESRB) and Mega Man 9 popped up on the screen. Rumor has it that the game will land on the XBox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network but I’m not too sure about that.

Capcom has come out and told NGamer Magazine in an interview that they have “a surprising take on a next-gen favorite” in store for the Wii. In an earlier Q&A, the “Corporate Officer/Vice-President of Strategic Planning & Business Development” Christian Svensson, told them it could be similar to Bionic Commando and Lost Planet but couldn’t go into any more detail.

Since we already know that Capcom has two games to talk about for the Wii at E3 and Spyborgs has already been announced, it should be safe to say we’ll be hearing more about this in July. Until then, we can only hope.
