Reciently Interplay announced they were reviving a few long lost heroes onto the Wii’s Virtual Console. Now, they’ve gone gung-ho about it and have begun developing Earthworm Jim 4. That’s right, your favorite machine gun toting, Princess Whats-Her-Name saving, earthworm is back in action! However there isn’t anything known about it other than it’s being worked on, not even which consoles it’ll be hitting. There’s also word that a new animated series and movie will debut at some point but those dates, too, are not divulged.

Wow, I can’t believe the series is coming back. It certainly brings back fond memories of Jim screaming “Whoa Nelly!” while riding a rocket and Queen Slug-For-A-Butt’s huge… uh… slug for a butt. Interplay certainly struck while the iron was hot. I hope Tommy Tallarico is on board with this one; I doubt they’d leave him out, but still…
